The Pinch An Inch Club is a free health clinic run by our veterinary nurse Sandra.
It provides your pet with regular weight checks and a chance for you to discuss their diet and exercise routine.
As in people cats and dogs have an ideal weight. Our Pinch An Inch Club helps you achieve and maintain your pets ideal weight and so reduces the risk of added health problems, helping your pet to lead a more energetic, healthier and longer life.
Research shows that around 50% of dogs and cats are overweight to some degree! Any overweight or obese pet is at an increased risk from a range of clinical problems such as heart disease, breathing difficulties and arthritis.
Weight gain in pets is normally due to an increase in body fat, most commonly caused by eating too much. When this is combined with a lack of exercise the energy gained by a pet from its food is not used up and so is stored in the body as fat.

The Pinch An Inch Club offers regular appointments at monthly, bi-monthly or tri-monthly intervals depending on how much weight there is to be lost and how your pet responds to the changes in lifestyle and diet.
